Based in the United Kingdom, Fatman Sound has been playing in reggae dancehalls from the late 60’s, a true foundation in the reggae music industry Fatman Sound continues to entertain the reggae masses worldwide. Over the generations, Fatman Sound has become and remained a musical legend playing week in, week out in some of the worlds top reggae venues. The 70’s and 80 saw a number of events featuring Fatman Sound System and a host of top reggae artists performing live on the set, including Jack Ruby, Johnny Osborne, Gregory Isaac, Errol Dunkley, Barrington Levy, U Brown & many more. In the sixties Fatman was the selector for a sound called ‘Fanso The Tropical Downbeat’, playing locally at parties and blues.

“Dem days, we used to share equipment and use one speaker” Fanso packed up the sound and went to Jamaica, leaving Fats with no sound. After listening to other sounds Fats, didn’t hear any sound he liked and decided to build his own, and did so working two jobs. After messing about with a few names like ‘WILD BELLS’ Fatman started to get popular; as popularity grew so did his belly hence the name Fatman. Fatman was very involved in reggae music working with the likes of King Tubby’s, Bunny Lee and Prince Jammy’s

Fatman was soon to become North London’s No.1 playing dances with most of London’s best sounds and winning various competitions. Fatman Sound continued to advance in music and experienced its 1st European spot in Belgium with the late great JACK RUBY SOUND from Jamaica. He then went on to France for the record company BLUEMOON in 1983.
