G.I. ROADSHOW SOCIAL MEDIA
G I Roadshow (Good Intentions) was established in 1987, we play at a variety of functions including private parties, charitable events, corporate functions, as well as local community events.
We are a member of British Association of Sound Systems (B.A.S.S), official and regulated sound systems who are authorized to play at the London Notting Hill Carnival by the local authorities and the emergency services.
We have teamed up with Ayo Shonaiya (RMG) and DJAMEDIA to host the official Nigerian Corner which has proven to be great success with Afrobeat artist performing on stage like’
- Daddy Showkey
- Cool H
- African Boy
- Wale Gates
- Wanda Cole
- Sir Shina Peters and many many more
We have participated in many stage shows throughout England and Wales with such acts as Merciless, Alton Ellis, Everton Blender, Bunny Wailer and Mark Morrison and warm up for 1998 World Gold Cup Clash (Temple), to name but a few.
In the past, we have worked with a radio presenter in Germany and went on to play in Austria and Germany. G.I Roadshow is an active member of the Friends of Peckham East (FoPE) based in the London Borough of Southwark. The group actively encourages residents to use the Park, through events like the Winter Lantern Parade, Prom in the Park and the mid-Summer Festival.
As you can see, we have been working for well over two decades and are pleased that we have built up a fantastic clientele who continue to work with us time and time again and kindly recommend us to others.
We enjoy playing a variety of music depending on the function but specialise in Afro-beats, Reggae, Revival and Soul. We have a few specials (dubplates artist singing about the sound) and am proud to boast the likes of Errol
Dunkley, I Roy, Big Youth Wailing Souls, Marcia Griffiths, Peter Hunnigale, Noel McKoy, Miss Kjah and Everis in our collection. Go to our gallery to see some of the artists we have worked with.
We play rare grooves and R&B to the surprise of other sounds and it gives us immense pleasure observing the response of our audience.
We have our own sound equipment and thoroughly enjoy the task of “stringing” up. Most of the equipment is custom built to our specification.
